​MATT MAYR

Matt Mayr grew up in Manitouwadge, a small Northern Ontario mining town. He studied English Literature at York University and Creative Writing at the Humber School for Writers. His first novel, Bad City (2015), was a quarter finalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Things Worth Burying  (April 2020), is an Ontario Arts Council Grant recipient and a Globe and Mail Best Book - Spring 2020. He has traveled widely in India, Nepal, and South America, trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp, and paddling deep into the Amazon Basin. He lives in Toronto with his wife and daughter where he works as an arborist.
